Surveys

The National Campaign website conducted a poll survey to see what people thought about whether or not the reality shows had glamorized teen pregnancy.

According to the survey a majority of both teens and adults agreed that the shows helped to better understand the challenges of teen pregnancy.  I think the few people that believe that the show glamorized the subject are the ones looking at the tabloids.  Rumors are that some girls have decided to get pregnant to get on the show.   The few people that have bought into the fact that the moms on the show are famous and it would be "cool" to be on the show are naive.  Another survey was done asking teens and adults if the show helped to bring up the topic and assist in talking about safe sex.

So even though teens and adults mostly agreed that shows related to sex are good ways to start conversations, the next survey done shows that the conversations are not actually happening.  Only 48% of teens felt like they were talking about sex even though 76% of them felt like the shows helped start the conversation.
